Honeydew Gallery: the first Create, Innovate Gosford City project

Honeydew Gallery, now occupying 100 Mann Street, features products from local Gosford makers ranging from locally made mineral make up, art works, hand made shibori silk scarves, soy candles and handmade jewellery.Honeydew Gallery, 100 Mann Street Gosford

The Gallery has transformed a grey, graffitied building that was overrun by pigeons and squatters into a stylish shop where the ornate ceiling compliments the new colour scheme of green and white.

"We are still searching for local hand produced ceramics and sculpture work to feature in the store", says gallery curator Dawn Allen. "And we welcome all enquiries."

Create, Innovate Gosford City

The second shop for Create, Innovate Gosford City will be cartoonist/illustrator Firestick Co's and the third, Sommers McCourt Gallery, will sit right alongside the Honeydew Gallery and showcase local artists.

"The project has attracted great interest from local creative industries,"says goneDote group's Deborah Lowndes who is project managing the Create, Innovate Project.

"We are also looking for spaces for a local architect who is also a talented artist, and a Gallery that will feature 'upcycled' products and unique sculptures," said Deborah. "So we are keen to hear from local property owners who would like to be part of the project to contact us".

The project is sponsored by Arts NSW, Gosford City Council, Gosford Chamber of Commerce and is supported by Gosford Business Improvement District. The project has also received strong support from local real estate agents, Raymond Wong and Chapman& Frazer's Rob Wilcox.
