Inhabit: Birmingham - popup arts tearooms

Dates Wed, 25 Aug 2010 09:00 am

Inhabit: Birmingham is a community arts project that forms part of the DCLG 'Empty Shops' inititative and will be taking place until March 2011 at five locations around Birmingham.

Their shop take-overs are tea-room themed, and will be offering free tea and cake to visitors as well as crafts and photography workshops and a range of commissions by local artists.  They are also encouraging groups and socities to come forward with their own proposals as to how the space should be used.

Samina Zahir, Director of Hybrid, says, "They’ll be a mix of creative workshops happening in the space, but always with tea, cake, biscuits and fruit salad in the mix. We’re open to ideas for how the space can be used, we’d love people to pop in, say hi and offer suggestions of what else we could do to help change the face of local high streets."
